When hovering over the digital clock it is supposed to show a popup dialog with the time in the additional time zones selected. It does nothing. No errors are shown in .xsession-errors during the hover. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. However over the digital clock. 2. 3. Actual Results: Nothing Expected Results: Show popup
Thanks for the report Do you get any popups anywhere in Plasma?
Actually come to think of it, no I don't think so. For example, my taskbar has "hover tooltips" set, and those are not showing either. However, all the click-triggered popups work just fine e.g. the k-menu, clicking on the clock shows the calendar, etc.
Ok; do you use multi-screen setup?
(In reply to Martin Klapetek from comment #3) > Ok; do you use multi-screen setup? Yes. Three monitors.
Ok, can you also please check System Settings -> Workspace/Desktop Behaviour -> Workspace/Workspace Behaviour -> Show Informational Tips ..if that is enabled?
(In reply to Martin Klapetek from comment #5) > System Settings -> Workspace/Desktop Behaviour -> Workspace/Workspace > Behaviour -> Show Informational Tips Ah, well that fixed it. I remember turning that off because the wording sounded like it was tutorial-type stuff like when one is first starting to learn KDE ("tips"). I didn't notice any immediate difference from turning it off so I left it off and subsequently forgot about it. I guess "informational tips" is supposed to be a nicer way to say "tooltips" but "tips" as a separate word means something other than what tooltip means. Some additional explanation in that dialog about what "informational tips" are would be useful.
And: why would *anyone* want to turn that off anyway?? i.e. why is that even an option?
I guess because Plasma Tooltips can be annoying. ok, seriously, I think we should kill that KCM, there's just this one option in it anyway...
