Description Navid Zamani 2016-01-08 12:33:45 UTC
The message appears while editing a file merge, if it doesn’t just contain lines of the source files (A|B), but manually entered lines (m) at the end… and you then save (Ctrl-S) again.

One of the files resides on an Android mobile phone, attached via SSHFS*. The other one in on the local hard disk. The phone display already went off (if that’s relevant). It is a slow connection.

* Command> sshfs -o follow_symlinks,nonempty,idmap=user,allow_root shell@mobile:. $HOME/.mobile

SSHFS and the file system behind it (f2fs) are probably unable to fulfill all the requirements of the VFS. (E.g. xattrs, rights or stuff like CoW may not work in every combination.)

The message doesn’t appear until the second or third save, and not the first time. It appears infinitely repeatable after that, by simply pressing Ctrl-S.

* Befehl> sshfs -o follow_symlinks,nonempty,idmap=user,allow_root shell@handy:. $HOME/.handy

Reproducible: Always

Is this still an issue in the latest 1.8.1 release?
