I wanted to write an email to person and clicked on the email address in an email he had written to me. Result: crash
The crash happens both in kmail standalone as well as within kontact.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Martin, you forgot to state your Kontact version. Can you say for sure that this ever happened with version 5.1 or later? In January 2016, chances are that you used the Technology Preview of Kontact.

Or maybe you even know that this bug has been fixed in a more recent version?

I am unable to reproduce this bug in KMail 5.5.2
