faulty webm render

Videos rendered to webm won't play back video in mplayer, vlc, ffplay. melt plays them back incorrectly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start kdenlive
2. Add color clip
3. Move color clip to timeline
4. Render
Destination: Web sites
Profile: WebM
All other: default value
5. View render result in
a) vlc
b) mplayer
c) ffplay
d) melt

Expected result:
a-d). Proper video playback

Actual result:
a,b) no video
c) no video, ffplay doesn't stop playin back when it reaches end
d) huge white video.

Not sure why it says matroska.webm I guess it might be using mks format instead of webm for some reason?

Attached is one webm output.

Note: when added before rendering, audio appears to be played back correctly in mplayer (others not tested).

The issue persists in
kdenlive-git 15.13.0.r6895.171ad15-1
mlt-git r4157.v0.9.2.379.g676fcd8-1

It is of increased severity, as WEBM is the default render profile in the current render window.
