Description Vadym Krevs 2016-01-02 22:43:02 UTC
openSUSE Leap 42.1 on a Sony SVE1711X1EB laptop. The laptop is on AC power, and the battery is 100% charged,

I've changed the defaults under Energy Saving/On AC Power in the Power Management module in System Settings to dim laptop screen after 10 min (from the default 5 min) and to switch off the screen after 20 min (from the default of 10 min).

However, these new settings are ignored, and the screen is always dimmed after 5 min, and switched off after 10. I've tried rebooting, powering off the laptop, etc - my customized settings are preserved and totally ignored.

Thanks. Did restarting help? When you open the PowerDevil settings, does it open up on the AC settings tab or Battery? This way we know whether PowerDevil is actually running in the AC profile.
Comment 4 Vadym Krevs 2016-01-02 23:34:50 UTC
Restarting does not help. When I open Powerdevil settings, they always open on the AC Settings tab.

I'm experiencing a very similar problem.
Changing energy saving values or unchecking them are being correctly committed ("xset q" shows the changed values), although if I exit and enter again the Power Management settings, the unchecked checkmarks are gone. Logging in again does load the previous settings.
