A SVG logo inspired from the actual png one

I made an attempt at recreating the actual logo as svg (inkscape format, I can make a reduced svg if needed, it may be slightly smaller), feel free to use the same license as the actual logo or whatever the KDE rules are regarding logos.

Ok, I don't know how to use this bug system, and I cannot attach anything else.

I did deposit it here:

> Could you put an icons under svg format ?
I checked my old backup CDs from 2004/2005, but did not find any SVG sources. I remembered that the logo was based on a loosing entry for the icon contest for KPDF/Okular from back then and could locate the webpage where I got the original PNG file from:
https://www.kde-look.org/p/1106095/
Unfortunately, there is no SVG file provided. Furthermore, I am not sure about the contest entry's license, although I assume it was under an open license as a requirement to compete. Therefore, I would like to migrate to your SVG icon, as you said you would like to publish it under an open license.

Please state explicitly under which license you are publishing your icon. I guess CC-BY is best, although an CC license which is not NC should be ok. "feel free to use the same license as the actual logo or whatever the KDE rules are regarding logos" is not a valid license ;-)

Using the opportunity to modify the logo and as you have the skills for that, do you have any suggestions for improvements?

Hi Thomas,

CC-BY seems good to me.

I was thinking of having a book and a pile of papers to reflect more on the "articles" side of things.

Thank you very much!

I have included the SVG icon in 'master' and re-created the icons in PNG format. Please see commit a8f43e242df0d for all changes.

Also, when designing a new icon, can you please base it on the Breeze icon style?

Thanks!

Sorry for my late answer.

I appreciate your effort creating this icon, but I am not (yet) satisfied to accept it as the new KBibTeX Breeze icon. If you check the examples on
https://community.kde.org/KDE_Visual_Design_Group/HIG/IconDesign
the icon of attachment 100495 [details] is fitting for a mimetype rather than an application.

Furthermore, due to is square shape, it is harder to recognize as KBibTeX's icon in comparison to the current icon using stacked books. Maybe it would be a viable way to 'breeze'ify the current icon?

Maybe either you or I should ask for support and suggestions in the KDE VDG/HIG Forum?
