since ffmpeg can be used for pretty much everything in video/audio ... it would be good if this can provide a thumbnail for audio files as well (Coverart) Reproducible: Always
Plugin for KDE to preview cover arts embedded in audio files (MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG) file tags as thumbnails: KDE4 - http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/AudioThumbs?content=145088 KF5 - https://github.com/eplightning/audiothumbs-frameworks Some distributions have the AudioThumbs - Arch (Aur): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O=0&K=thumb&do_Search=Go -> https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/audiothumbs/ -> https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/audiothumbs-frameworks-git/
I've been using audiothumbs-frameworks on ArchLinux for months and it works great :)
Its not about there is no audiothumbs addon. its about that we could use the ffmpeg one for all media files (audio/video) and wouldnt need to install a 3rd party tool
