I wonder if this bug is related to the plasmashell/Task Manager bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342763 ? I'm using two workarounds to fix the problem: 1. Disable the Windows List applet 2. Install qt5ct and set QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME='qt5ct' The second step has the undesirable effect of breaking systemsetting5 (it will not invoke any module), but you can use kcmshell5 instead.
