I installed Jessie on my Odroid XU4, which is armv7 architecture. I then installed KDE using tasksel. After logging into the desktop, I am unable to add any widgets to the panel either by double clicking on them or clicking then dragging. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Debian 8 on Odroid XU4 2. apt-get update 3. apt-get upgrade 4. run tasksel and install kde 5. log into KDE and try and add any widget to the panel Actual Results: Widgets can not be added, moved or interacted with. I can however run a widget, such as system monitor, through application launcher. Expected Results: Widgets are moved to panel. file:///usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/packages/org.kde.desktop.widgetexplorer/contents/ui/main.qml:48:18340: QML Component: Delegate component must be Item type. file:///usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/packages/org.kde.desktop.widgetexplorer/contents/ui/main.qml:316:17: Unable to assign undefined value file:///usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/packages/org.kde.desktop.widgetexplorer/contents/ui/main.qml:71: Unable to assign QObject* to QDeclarativeItem* file:///usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma/packages/org.kde.desktop.widgetexplorer/contents/ui/main.qml:46: Unable to assign QObject* to QDeclarativeItem*
I am using KDE 4.14.2 however, that was not an option while filling out this bug report.
Did you unlock the widgets first? I suggest to use a help forum for these issues.
Hello! Plasma 4 was replaced by Plasma 5 four years ago by the KDE community. In that time we have made great strides in stability and functionality. We are closing all Plasma 4 bugs as most of them are no longer applicable to the new frameworks Plasma 5 is built upon. If you could, please re-test with the latest version of Plasma 5, and submit a new bug to "plasmashell" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
