Description slartibart70 2015-12-13 23:08:41 UTC
Selecting adwaita-cursor theme instead of breeze works fine in kde/qt applications. But, in firefox, the breeze cursor theme remains active, so hovering over firefox you got the 'new' mouse icon, leaving firefox switches to the adwaita mouse icons...

Reproducible: Always

I am experiencing what I believe is the same thing. Also fedora kde 64 bit. I have breeze (or breeze snow, doesn't matter really) as the default cursor theme. Whenever I open a gtk application, it reverts to adwaita when hovering over the application.

I have noticed that going into system settings, pretending to change the cursor theme to something else, and then putting it back on breeze and apply will fix this...BUT

1. only for the presently opened gtk applications. If I firefox open when I do the switch, it will work for firefox. But if I open libreoffice afterwards, it will use adwaita.

2. a subsequent login will reset the whole affair, with all gtk applications using adwaita.

I am frankly not sure if this is an issue with kde or fedora. But it seems to be the same problem as slartibart.

I have the same "problem", is KDE issue, apparently related to gtk widget implementation.

"The workaround":

For Firefox to use the system cursor theme or any other you need to:

System setting > Application Style > Gnome Application Style

How is that a bug in kde-gtk-config if using it fixes the issue?
This needs figuring out and triaging.

Yeah, it seems that it has been fixed. I am not sure how long the extra options for changing cursor and icons have been there, but that seems to fix it. So, this bug report should probably be closed.

I'm ok with closing it - my problem initially was, that kde-gtk-config was/is not installed by default (speaking of fedora kde spin). You had to add it manually - which is then working fine.

I think this module should be installed by default, because there might be other users experiencing similar problems?
