The URI for mtp devices is invalid. For example, Dolphin displays this: mtp:/Nexus 4/Internal storage/ The correct value is in this case mtp://Nexus 4/Internal storage/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an MTP device, e.g. cellphone 2. Browse the device contents 3. Ctrl-l to to go the location bar
Do you get the forward slash if you open the MTP device from the file dialog of, e.g., KWrite?
I don't know how to open an MTP device from the file dialog of kwrite or kate.
(In reply to Damon Lynch from comment #2) > I don't know how to open an MTP device from the file dialog of kwrite or > kate. I had assumed that you opened it by clicking the device in the Places Panel, which you could also do in the file dialog, but then you probably did it differently (maybe with Plasma's device notifier?). In any case, if the device is open in Dolphin, does it not show up in the Places Panel? And can you see it in the Places section of the file dialog then?
I think the source of our confusion here is that I'm not seeing the KDE open file dialogs within KDE applications. I'm only seeing the Qt file open dialog. I tried to get assistance on #kubuntu on how to solve this problem, but the suggested solution did not work. I don't see the KDE open file dialog even if I login as a temporary guest user. I'm at a loss as how to proceed from here.
The MTP URI has the correct number of forward-slashes (two) in Dolphin 16.12.3 and 17.08.0
