When using kmix, I click on the system tray icon then click mute, then the desktop freezes until I ctrl alt f1 to a terminal, then htop tells me that kmix and kwin are taking up 100% cpu, then I kill kmix and the desktop unfreezes.

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with KMix 25.12.0
