increasing the volume of one channel increases master volume, this makes the volume sound of the other channels which is not a good behaviour . Other bug , when in mixer -> settings -> configure kmix -> select volume override , is not the master channel that can go to 153 % is the individuals channels , should be the master that have that power . This behaviour makes people think clients alter master output volume (a.k.a. volume jumps to 100% after running application), when is kmix which put master 100% , when I increase volume of one channel. Reproducible: Always
Interesting point of view on arch linux : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting#Clients_alter_master_output_volume_.28a.k.a._volume_jumps_to_100.25_after_running_application.29
Sorry, I don't really parse the problem (I suspect you mean "stream" rather than "channel" - the latter refers to left+right+centre+lfe etc), but from what I can gather this is related to flat volumes and KNotifications inability to get this right. I've patched knotify to use libcanberra downstream and sadly none of the downstream maintainers can really agree on the right approach. Suspect this one is a WONTFIX or a dupe of #324975 I'll mark it as the latter. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 324975 ***
I'm using kmix 15.08.3. yeah when I increase volume of one stream shouldn't increase the volume of master playback devices
Hi, rechecking this is a pulseaudio problem , pavucontrol have some incorrect behavior
