Description Marina Brown 2015-11-20 03:53:52 UTC
When i use a hotkey combination to switch activities - i use multiple activities - the desktop freezes and becomes unresponsive leaving an outline of the activities panel and nothing else.
This began happening after i upgraded to plasma 5.4.3. I already had activities predefined. After the upgrade i also had to increase font size.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Increase font size
2. create several activities with different wallpapers (wallpaper may have no relevance)
3. Define a hotkey combination meta-tab or ctrl-alt-s to shift between activities
4. using hotkeys will lock

Actual Results:
The desktop freezes and i have to restart plasma to use it again.

Expected Results:
The activities panel should have allowed me to switch between activities rather than lock plasma up.

You can switch between activities with the mouse. It is only hotkeys that cause plasma5 to lock up.

Hi Marina,

Thanks for reporting this.

This should be fixed in the next release of Plasma. At least a similar issue has been resolved - QML in the activity switcher gets into an infinite loop constantly trying to re-layout everything.

Just in case, can you test the following - when plasma starts, switch activities using the mouse, and after that try to use meta+tab to switch again.
