Description Johan 2015-11-06 10:19:59 UTC
When viewing a laptop with wide monitor and probably Nvidia graphics adaptor over VNC, the screen is displayed as a parallelogram instead of a rectangle. What used to be vertical lines, is displayed diagonally to the right. This happened on two different makes of laptops, a Sony Vaio and Acer, both with wide screens and the Acer has a Nvidia graphics card. The laptops had Windows 7 installed. Another Windows XP Compaq laptop's graphics appears fine. This happened over a VPN connection, using NetworkManager as well as PPPD.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.(Optionally?) connect to a VPN where a remote Windows 7 laptop with wide screen is located.
2.Connect to the laptop using its IP on the remote network, by VNC on KRDC.
3.See a skewed display of the laptop's desktop.

Actual Results:
The remote laptop's desktop appeared skewed - vertical lines appeared diagonal to the right.

Expected Results:
The remote laptop's desktop should appear rectangular, as with all other computers accessed on VNC.

It is not sure whether Windows 7 on the remote computer could contribute to the problem, but it seems like a wide screen remote laptop and / or perhaps a Nvidia card on the remote laptop cause the problem. This problem appeared in earlier version(s) of KRDC as well.

This is a view of the wide screen laptop, showing Outlook 2010's explorer view.
Comment 4 Urs Wolfer 2015-11-08 14:34:19 UTC
Can you reproduce this issue also with another VNC client?
Comment 5 Johan 2015-11-08 19:34:26 UTC
Neither Real VNC nor UltraVNC on Windows have this issue. The screen appears normal on those clients.
