Description Harald Brunner 2015-11-05 08:51:47 UTC
For some dialogues the default button is "Cancel" which lead me to believe that adding feeds is terminally broken, as confirming with Enter was invoking cancellation. The default button should be "OK", at least unless the action is considered "dangerous", like feed deletion.

Dialogues that are affected:
- Add feed
- Feed properties
Not affected (= seemingly everything else):
- Import/Export feeds
- New folder
- Akregator settings
- Notification settings
- Shortcut settings
- Toolbar settings

(There also does not appear to be any visual feedback on which is the default button, at least in Gnome, if that matters.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open "add feed" dialogue.
2. Enter feed URL.
3. Press Enter

Actual Results:
No feed is added.

Expected Results:
Feed is added.

Version 5.0.2

I will investigate it soon

I think that there is a pb in your system because here ok is the default.
Comment 3 Harald Brunner 2015-11-05 13:01:04 UTC
That is odd, given that it's not the same for all dialogs. Any idea where this might be coming from? Never heard of something like this being affected by the system.

This bug has never been confirmed for a Kontact version that is based on KDE Frameworks, except possibly a Technology Preview version 5.0.x. Those versions differ significantly from the old 4.x series. Therefore, I plan to close it in around two or three months. In the meantime, it is set to WAITINGFORINFO to give reporters the opportunity to check if it is still valid. As soon as someone confirms it for a recent version (at least 5.1, ideally even more recent), I'll gladly reopen it.

Please understand that we lack the manpower to triage bugs reported for versions almost two years beyond their end of life.
Comment 5 Harald Brunner 2017-06-28 07:46:18 UTC
The add feed dialogue now defaults to OK, while the feed properties dialogue still has Cancel as default for me. Version is 5.5.1.
Comment 6 Allen Winter 2017-07-06 17:05:22 UTC
I don't see Feed Properties but I do see Edit Feed.
For the Edit Feed dialog the default button is [ok] for me.

I am unable to reproduce this in my setup
