Description Martin Senftleben 2015-11-02 17:25:40 UTC
I often want to create an album (sub-folder) in order to move selected images from the current (import-)album into the other. Whenever I right click on a different album, digikam switches to that album. As I have many albums, consequently I have to scroll through the list in order to get to the album from where I want to move the images. This is an unnecessary step. Generally, when right clicking on a folder, it means you just want to open the context menu.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. It is kind of a nuisance.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. right click on a different album
2.
3.

Actual Results:
digikam changes to that album and opens the context menu

Expected Results:
digikam only opens the context menu, but remains in the current album.

We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version.

I'm now at version 6.4.0 and it still behaves as described. I'm waiting for my distro to provide version 7. I've changed the version above.

You can use safety 7.0.0 with the AppImage Linux bundle that we provide for you...

The behavior also exists in digiKam-7.0.0. It is also not easy to change or make sense since many right mouse button menu functions depend on an album being selected.

Hi Maik,

Yes you are right: the context menu content depends of the current selected album. If this one is not selected, it will be problematic to populate properly the context menu.
