Description boblovgren55 2015-10-28 09:03:39 UTC
Frequently in Dolphin when right-mouse clicking on a file to delete it, it doesn't get moved to trash. Instead, the notifications animation in system tray spins until I press stop in the Notifications Center. Also, when pressing the shift key to permanently delete a file without moving it to trash, pressing the shift key once gets the context menu stuck on the delete option. The behavior is supposed to be that the delete option only shows for as long as the user is pressing down the shift key. As soon as the shift key is released, the "Delete" option should go away and "Move to Trash" should show up. This issue showed up on one of the newer builds of Dolphin and the new trash folder which turned red when files/folders were in it. The old version of the trash can that didn't turn red when files were in it didn't have this problem. The partition which I'm trying to delete files from where this problem arises is a btrfs partition.

openSUSE Tumbleweed and Leap 42.1 RC1
KDE Frameworks 5.15.0
Plasma: 5.4.2
KDE Apps: 15.08.2
Qt Version: 5.5.1

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right mouse click on file or folder
2. Select "Move to Trash"
3. Notifications animation in tray spins, and animation in Notification center ping pongs back and forth

Actual Results:
File or folder doesn't get deleted and user has to manually stop the notifications animation by pressing the stop button.

Expected Results:
File should be moved in to the trash can, and pressing the shift key once should not get the context menu stuck on the "delete" option.

KDE Plasma Version: 5.4.3
Qt Version: 5.4.2
Distro: Kubuntu 15.10 64 bit
Dolphin version: 15.08.2
I can confirm that the problem is present in dolphin 15.08.2

Still Happening with Dolphin 15.08.3. I have to kill numerous trash.so processes which build up as the animation in the notifications tray is spinning. When I do this action, the moving to trash process completes. Over time, as many as 20+ trash.so processes can build up.

Can someone please fix this bug?

I also have been facing the same issue on Fedora 23 on Plasma 5.4.3.

several users here and on downstream fedora kde list can confirm this, marking as such
