Each time I try to startup any of the applications Amarok, Kscd the application gets terminated with a segfault. Related to this might be the related already reported frequent crashes of Knotify.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Unfortunately your backtrace has no debugging symbols, without those it is rather useless. Please install debugging symbols for Amarok, Phonon, Phonon-backend-vlc and provide a better backtrace. Please see also https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#openSUSE

at first glance I don't see any relation to knotify or another kdelibs problem, but rather a problem with Phonon and it's backend, but without a proper backtrace this is just a guess
