Description Stuart K. Smith 2015-10-22 13:21:32 UTC
On the phone (Moto X, 2nd gen, Android 5.1 fully updated), I opened "Photos" app, selected nine photos and attempt to use KDE Connect via the "Share" option to send them to my Kubuntu 15.04 (fully updated) desktop. Upon seeing notification on the desktop that files had been received, I found the first four files only in my Downloads folder but they were zero in size. The phone also showed only 4 files had been sent although 9 had been selected.

Attempting exactly the same steps using "Gallery" rather than Photos, both devices reported all 9 files copied, however this time 2 of the 9 transferred completely (3rd and 9th were viewable) but the rest reported bad or unloadable meta info although they were apparently full size files.

Trying again using "Gallery", the desktop reported 9 files had incompletely transferred and none were viewable although some were apparently full size files. 3 of the files remained in Notifier as "Receiving' but never completed.

Trying 9 files again using "Photos" resulted in 2 files attempting to transfer, but never completed. Same result when trying a single photo.

All received photos (corrupted or not) were deleted from the target and all incomplete transfers were cancelled between each attempt.

Opening the phone from the PC using Dolphin via KDE Connect and copying the photos works well. Using KDE Connect to transfer the photos directly to the PC works most of the time, but is limited to a single picture at a time and thus not very usable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open "Photos" or "Gallery" on "KDE Connect"ed phone and select photo(s).
2. Select "Share" and "KDE Connect" as the sharing method.
3. Select PC in "Share to..."

Actual Results:
Random results, all bad: Sometimes PC reported "files received," other times reported "transfer incomplete." Most often, files were not transferred. Rarely a file was properly sent and received. Using "Photos" and multiple files never resulted in all files being attempted - 4 or 3 of 9 selected was observed. "Gallery" reported all selected files transferred, but final results were the same random failures.

Expected Results:
I would like the Share function to work as one would expect.

It seems like it might be the program is falsely reporting the transfer is complete to the phone so the phone stops sending the file. It would also be extremely useful if KDE Connect allowed multiple files to be sent - assuming it would work consistently.

I would include log file info, but there doesn't seem to be any. I installed the debugging symbols for kdeconnect after these trials. Let me know if I can do any trouble shooting...

File transfers have been reworked. Please try recent kdeconnect and kio.
