Description bat cooper 2015-10-22 01:18:22 UTC
If you use the trend line function to do linear regression, the resulting trend 'line' is not straight! Setting the 'AllowOffset' variable to False makes no difference. There are lots of square brackets in the Help for this function which do not seem to make sense and seem not to work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use the Trend function gui to calculate values on the trend-line.
2. Plot the trend-line values with an XY-scatter graph.

Actual Results:
The trend line follows the measurements but it is not straight.

Expected Results:
The trend line should be straight or certainly should be if the 'AllowOffset' option is set to False? Setting it to False, makes the trend-line values meaningless.

Sorry, I have since got this to work perfectly and give a straight trend-line. A revised statistical.xml explaining to the user how to do this was submitted a while back. Still unsure about the allowOffset thing as this may still not be working.

I submitted a suggested revision to statistical.xml to explain the allowOffset parameter in the help text, which I think will solve this one.
