Description Björn Ruberg 2015-10-17 18:45:56 UTC
See my screencasted demonstration in the screencast I linked.

I have a small laptop display left of a bigger monitor.
Always when I try to move the panel across the screen border, it jumps to the right side. Sometimes plasma crashs doing that. In case I try to move the panel from the bottom position to the bottom position in the left screen, the panel jumps to the right side. It grows vertically so that I cannot see the sysicons anymore. It has to be deleted and recreated.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to move a panel from a larger screen to a smaller one

Not seen that.

Can I have:
 - output of xrandr -q

 - the backtrace when it crashed (from the dialog that pops up)
Comment 3 Björn Ruberg 2015-10-18 07:37:14 UTC
I have similar problems with moving the panels on three systems. All run Fedora 23 and all use intel chipsets.

Comment 4 Björn Ruberg 2015-10-18 08:54:52 UTC
I just tried for 15 minutes to recreate the crash and failed. Sometimes that happens all the time and sometimes not.

I found out that I can move the panel successfully by clicking on the "change width" button after it has jumped to the wrong side.
Comment 5 Arthur Hoaro 2016-04-10 09:55:43 UTC
I have the same issue with 3 same size screens. It doesn't always go the right side, but the opposite side. Sometimes, it blinks between the two screens for ~5s, then the original screen always wins.

Comment 6 Björn Ruberg 2016-04-15 20:21:48 UTC
Fedora 23 just updated to Qt 5.6
The problem went away for me after that.
Comment 7 Arthur Hoaro 2016-04-16 11:04:32 UTC
I confirm. But now I can't make the panel vertical. That's a different issue though.
