Description kdebugs 2015-10-17 17:42:16 UTC
This is a companion bug to Bug 354008. If that is fixed, presumably this will be also.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Set screen to turn off after 1 minute, and lock the screen (Ctrl+Alt+L). Wait ~1 minute.
1. Screen briefly displays the session that's supposedly locked.
2. Press any key or use the mouse while that screen is displayed (before it turns black).

Actual Results:
When the screen is blanked, it will not continue on to turn off the screen. Instead, you're left with a blank black screen. The mouse cursor moves around okay, and you can, e.g., Ctrl+Alt+F1 to another TTY, but that's all you can do. If you're patient and don't touch the keyboard & mouse and let it start to turn the screen off again (press a key AFTER the screen again goes blank - after it flashes the lockscreen), it will go back to the lock screen.

NB: Under "Actual Results": The order of screens is as follows:
1) The unresponsive blank black screen with mouse cursor only.
2) Briefly, the lock screen.
3) Briefly, the revealed session (see Bug 354008).
4) Back to the blank black screen with cursor which lingers for a couple seconds before turning off the video output. This, or after the screen turns off is where you can press a key to return to the lock screen. Mouse/keyboard input before this returns you to the blank unresponsive screen.

I think, I experienced this bug for several times, too.

It appears Bug 354008 was closed as a duplicate of Bug 388384 and that has been resolved.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I've set the bug status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
