We would need much more than what you provide here, could you please give a way to reproduce this freeze, and provide the last 20-30 lines from the konsole output with amarok -d --nofork We also need the informations you can provide about Phonon and the Phonon backend from the Amarok diagnostics (Help Menu -> Diagnostics) Since this is a freeze, does it resolve at some point or do you have to abort it? If the latter is the case, please provide a debug output from gdb, see https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_with_GDB for more informations on how to do this. A backtrace is mandatory if you report a crash... And please, paste both the output and the backtrace in a comment field so it is searchable in bugzilla, we can not search inside attachments.

Thank you for the feedback, apparently this is an old bug raising it's head again that should already have been resolved. And it is an upstream bug in the gam_server, see comments 40 and 41 in the bug I mark this as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 281312 ***
