Plasma 5 still lacks some widgets which make the desktop "cozy". Apart from a decent weather widget also the picture frame widget is missing. I cannot say that the picture frame widget is useful and that I need it for a certain purpose - but I am missing it it a lot, it helps to make the desktop "mine". Also wish I could have different picture frames for every virtual desktop as I had it in KDE SC 4 but that's another bug/missing feature report... Reproducible: Always
Thanks for the report Actually someone new took up working on that this week. We're tracking progress of porting applets on todo.kde.org. https://todo.kde.org/?controller=board&action=show&project_id=11 I don't want it here as well as we get duplication of data and they'll get out of sync. Note there is a bug reported already RE: virtual desktops which is here and open.
Thanks for your answer and explanation.
(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #1) > We're tracking progress of porting applets on todo.kde.org. > https://todo.kde.org/?controller=board&action=show&project_id=11 Is it possible to see the content without an account? I guess it would be helpful for users so that they don't report things already being worked on.
I was also wondering about this, and found a workaround by using the WebSlice -widget and pointing it to file://path/to/img.file. It works well enough for my purposes (:
KF5 (Picture) Frame plasmoid: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/126793/ Has been submitted.
Can anyone please indicate how to install this right now without waiting for a future version/package release?
