Description Alvaro Soliverez 2015-10-07 01:48:45 UTC
My computer is connected to 2 networks, 1 by cable, the other by wifi. The networks are completely different with their own gateway and even different ISPs.
My phone is connected to the wifi network.

When the laptop is connected to both networks, it cannot connect to the phone. If I disconnect it, and only wifi is active, it connects successfully.

This setup worked ok with the kde4 version.

Information for package kdeconnect-kde5:
----------------------------------------
Repository: KDE Unstable Extra
Name: kdeconnect-kde5
Version: 0.8.99git-34.1
Arch: x86_64
Vendor: obs://build.opensuse.org/KDE:Unstable

Reproducible: Always

My computer is connected to a network through a subnetwork (repeater).
Even though the mobile is connected to the same subnetwork, computer and phone cannot be paired.

I have had issues with my devices not recognizing each other (1 laptop, 2 phones) after moving to the Frameworks 5 build as well, and this seems to be the only related bug that might affect me.

I live in an apartment with a shared connection with the other apartments in the building. From the router in the entrance an ethernet cable comes up to the room. In the apartment I have a 2nd router used as an access point which I use so I can have wifi for all the devices to connect.

Have in mind that kdeconnect worked perfectly in this setting before the update to the Frameworks 5 build.

x86_64 system running Chakra, using kdeconnect 0.9 on Plasma 5.4.3 and Frameworks 5.16.

Do they see each other if you use the "refresh" feature from both devices?

Hi Albert,

In regards to my scenario, I must have hit that refresh button on all my devices a gazillion times, testing all sorts of things. None worked. =/

I have tested this on my previously working setup (where things stopped working after the switch to KF5). I have also deleted all files related to kdeconnect on my laptop and reinstalled it, still nothing. I have installed kdeconnect on a second phone but again it is not detected by the laptop and vice versa.
Am not a networking expert, but the related ports seem properly forwarded, please let me know if that is not the case: https://paste.kde.org/pon9v2pv2

Forgot to mention that on the phones I always use the latest kdeconnect version available in f-droid, which is 0.9e at the moment.
If you need any more feedback I will be happy to provide it.

While troubleshooting another issue today I realized that pinging between the devices was not possible, so I rebooted the router and am ashamed but very happy to report that everything is back to normal.
Please consider my previous comments as false, sorry for any trouble.

Seems like it's working then? Please reopen or report again if it's not the case.
