Tasks in the taskbar take too much space. Same behaviour is seen in KDE4 as well but using smooth-tasks2 package gives additional customization options allowing users to adjust the length of the tasks. Since smooth-tasks2 is not being supported anymore it would be nice to have such setting in the default taskbar plasmoid. Another thing is the way 'inactive' tasks are displayed. When grayed out the whole taskbar looks dull and unappealing. A lot users like myself would love to be able to actually be able to control this behaviour and personalize the look and feel of the desktop we are looking at everyday. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open any window. 2. 3. Actual Results: Tasks in the taskbar take too much space. Inactive tasks are grayed out. Expected Results: Option to adjust the length and grayout effect.
They auto-shrink, and it's not using that space for anything else anyway.
But it's unpleasent and ugly. What if they have maximim size? What is the reason for such length for only one task?
Git commit f34cf61260ab02dfda4da0cb1368d853df306246 by Eike Hein. Committed on 30/09/2015 at 13:43. Pushed by hein into branch 'master'. Reduce maximum preferred size for task delegates a little. There's been repeated feedback they're too wide by default.
