Description Rémi Vanicat 2015-09-25 18:36:36 UTC
I've a non compliant screen (TV) that is shown as disconnected when it iss off. If I poweron it back, I've a blank screen (the TV say « no input »). Other DM have no problem to bring back the display.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a LG TV as only output
2. Turn off the TV (output will appear disconnected)
2. Turn on the TV

Actual Results:
plasmashell is displayed

Expected Results:
plasmashell do no bring back the display

I'm using closed source nvidia driver on this computer.

Is plasmashell still running after the TV comes back on?
Are there any crash dialogs?
Comment 2 Rémi Vanicat 2015-09-26 07:29:14 UTC
Using ssh, I see that krunner kactivitymanage plasmashell klauncher kded5 kcminit_startup kacces and kwin_x11 have died.

I don't know it it is usefull, but when the TV is off, xrandr tell me that:
$ DISPLAY=:0 xrandr                                                 -~
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 8 x 8, maximum 8192 x 8192
VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DVI-D-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

turning the tv on, and reactivating it with xrandr lead to an empty display, with nothing but the mouse cursor, so no crash dialogs to be seen.
