This looks like kwin looses the xcb connection (but the backtrace does unfortunately not include line numbers) - inability to talk to the x11 server (distribute focus etc.) is expectable in this case. Please check the kwin_x11 journal for error messages from xcb. How often does this occur and can you spot something commonly happening right before (system was STR, you started some program, attached an input device, altered the screen configuration etc.)? However, just to narrow the behavior: > An apparent loss of mouse focus i.e. when clicking on the kmenue it would immediately close, > text in a search box in Firefox would be highlighted but clicking anywhere else would not > result in any visible response and the text would remain highlighted. Can you still interact with mouse driven elements in this case (eg. click a button)? Can you effectively change the focus with alt+tab or by clicking taskbar entries?
This is the the 3/4th occurrence since upgrading to F22 (aprox 6-8 weeks ago). I can't think of any common denominator, but then I can't think of anything that I did to possibly 'trigger' it, though I can remember pretty much what applications were open and what was/ was not plugged in. The only thing that may have been attached around the relevant time is my LG G3 and the only applications I may have opened around the relevant time are Okular and Chromium. I can however state that no settings were changed, nor was any mouse/ keyboard etc. attached or removed. This might be a bit far removed but I had just copied URL from within Firefox to paste in to the URL bar of Chromium, though I cannot recall it I got as far as actually pasting it before thing went crazy. Apologies if the above is not much help - I will endeavour to pay more attention next time. I can still interact with the task bar and bring down/ send up open applications, I seem to recall from a previous occurrence that I was able to enter into another tty. As for using 'buttons' that may be possible though that is a vague recollection from again a previous occurrence. ========================================================================== QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 173, resource id: 35651590, major code: 20 (GetProperty), minor code: 0 OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 760/PCIe/SSE2 OpenGL version string: 4.4.0 NVIDIA 340.76 OpenGL shading language version string: 4.40 NVIDIA via Cg compiler Driver: NVIDIA Driver version: 340.76 GPU class: Unknown OpenGL version: 4.4 GLSL version: 4.40 Linux kernel version: 4.1.6 Requires strict binding: no GLSL shaders: yes Texture NPOT support: yes Virtual Machine: no QXcbConnection: XCB error: 9 (BadDrawable), sequence: 2441, resource id: 0, major code: 14 (GetGeometry), minor code: 0 QXcbConnection: XCB error: 9 (BadDrawable), sequence: 2442, resource id: 0, major code: 14 (GetGeometry), minor code: 0 QXcbConnection: XCB error: 9 (BadDrawable), sequence: 2451, resource id: 0, major code: 14 (GetGeometry), minor code: 0 ============================================================================ and I have just lost window decerations and mouse right click function fetching the journel.
Using ctrl+c did not copy the above to the clipboard when I thought I was about to loose it, but thankfully the "save changes" button was still available - hence it appears here.
Marking as fixed as all the mouse issues (i.e. it became very difficult to pan a map) I had since this report now seem to have gone way - at least for now.
