Description Martin Kostolný 2015-09-18 23:20:28 UTC
Every plasmoid's metadata.desktop file contains key-value pair "Icon=...". I am unable to specify a path to an in-plasmoid image or svg.

It is only possible to specify theme specific image or absolute path to an image. E.g. none of these work:
Icon=/icon.png
Icon=icon.png
Icon=YES #which should (or used to) load icon.png
Icon=plasmapackage:/icon.png

I don't know of any other possibilities. Is it even possible in plasma 5?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Extract attached org.kde.weatherWidgetTest.zip archive to ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids
2. Copy ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.weatherWidgetTest/metadata.desktop to ~/.local/share/kservices5
3. Click "Add Widgets..." on panel and look for "Weather Widget Test"

Actual Results:
It has no icon.

Expected Results:
There should be a way to set the icon to be an in-plasmoid one (other then using absolute path: /home/user/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.weatherWidgetTest/weather-widget.svg)

I've got Plasma 5.4.1 and KF 5.13.

Hi, I experience the same problems, the custom icon is not shown.
I tried the give the path with and without /, relative, icon.png with YES, nothing helped.

Is there a defined way to get it working.

Martin, did you succeeded in the meanwhile somehow?

Hi, It looks like it was fixed sometime in the past 6 years :)
If I place the icon in the plasmoid/contents and use /icon.png, it works.
