Description Randy Barlow 2015-09-10 16:09:05 UTC
When I use my laptop's built-in display off of my docking station and then move it to the docking station, the external monitors do not become active automatically.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use the laptop off the docking station.
2. (optionally) suspend the laptop by closing the lid (if you don't do this, the problem still happens, but this is my usual workflow.)
3. Dock the laptop.
4. If you suspended the laptop, use the dock's power button to wake it up.

Actual Results:
The external monitors are still off, and the video seems to still be going to the laptop's built-in display.

Expected Results:
I expect the transition of moving onto the docking station to automatically turn off the laptop's built-in display, and turn on the external monitors.

Laptop: Lenovo x1 Carbon Gen. 3

OS Version: Fedora Rawhide

When this issue is occuring, xrandr does show the two external monitors as being attached but kscreen does not automatically switch to them.

I cannot reproduce this in plasma 5.9.2 or 5.9.3. I'm not sure, but I think I didn't reproduce this in 5.8.x either.

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Plasma 5.25 or 5.26?

If it is, please change the status to CONFIRMED when replying. If not, or if you can't because you no longer use this setup, you can change the status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Thanks a lot!
