Description Diego-MX 2015-09-06 02:02:49 UTC
I recently did an upgrade to Plasma 5.4 in Ubuntu 15.04. This left me with two audio icons in the system tray. I found the bug reported for archlinux, however there is no solution there... and it's also not my system. This is the [link](https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=201805).

In summary:
- One icon labeled volume is related to kmix; the other one for audio volume is for plasma-pa.
- Quitting kmix doesn't allow using keyboard volume keys, and gets restarted on startup.

Let me know if I can do more to understand this better.

From what I've seen in my Arch Linux installation kmix starts automatically because I've configured it this way.

Volume controls also works with new plasmoid in my case.

Close kmix (and uninstall it if you don't need it) and restart plasma can workaround.

How can I tell if I'm gonna need it? Might there be an application that relies on it?
Thanks.

kmix-15.08.3 (and newer) includes kconf scripts to disable itself, so should be resolved now

Sorry, make that plasma-pa includes the kconf_update script
