Description Martin Maurer 2015-08-23 15:14:43 UTC
I enabled apache authentication on my piwigo installation.
(include/config_default.inc.php -> apache_authentication = true)
When I try to export photos to the gallery and need to setup the piwigo account in digikam I get an authentication failed message.
Web login works fine for the same credentials.

Further info: I have a self-signed certificate for my apache server but during login it correctly asked me to confirm to use this certificate anyways. So I think this is unrelated.

I set this bug to wishlist as I suppose apache_authentication is currently unsupported in the piwigo export plugin.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enable apache_authentication in piwigo config
2. use https (maybe unrelated)
3. try to connect using digikam -> Export to piwigo

Actual Results:
authentication error

Expected Results:
Successful login

Can you reproduce the problem with current digiKam 5.9.0 pre release Linux AppImage bundle ?

Today, next digiKam 7.0.0 beta2 64 bits pre-release AppImage bundle will be
published with last Qt5.14 and QtWebEngine by default (instead QtWebkit).

Please test and give us a feedback to see if problem remain on your computer.

Hi,

I can just confirm that the plugin doesn't support the Apache authentication. And as it's quite unusual, I don't think it will be implemented in a near future.

Hi Frédéric,

I close this file as not a bug following your comment #4.

Note: I modernized the plugin GUI to be more easy to use. See this screenshot:
