Sorry, there is not more to say about it. I can open the more options panel, but all is gray. I have done some investigations before but cannot find a remedy. The hints I found (rename configuration files, install Nepomuk, install Baloo etc) are all not solving the problem Reproducible: Always
Confirmed: Same here on Kubuntu. I rebuilt the index a few times, but that does not fix the problem. I am wondering what triggers Dolphin to grey out search. Search through Krunner (Alt-F2) does work.
This is how it looks when baloo is disabled.
Created attachment 107662 [details] attachment-24751-0.html Nate, Please excuse: I did not try to use the dolphin search options for a long time. Today I typed balooctl status: running After that I looked into dolphin and voila, it is working now. Possibly there was an update by Suse in the meantime. Anyway this is no longer an issue although I cannot tell how it has been solved. Glad to hear it. FWIW, KDE4 has been deprecated and unsupported for years. Plasma 5 really is much better!
