I typicall yfill the playlist with a complete album of my choice and let Amarok play the list. However, when the album contains very short tracks, Amarok stops directly after it and I have to hit the play button manually to continue. This happens for me with two albums (Tinashe - Aquarius; track 4 is an interlude with 6 ms and with Culture Beat - Serenity, track 13 is also 6 ms with a greeting from singer Tanja). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fill the playlist with tracks and add a short one (6 ms ) in the middle 2. Let Amarok play the list Actual Results: Amarok stops after the short track. Expected Results: Amarock should continue playing with the next track in the list Fehlerdiagnose für Amarok Amarok-Version: 2.8.0 KDE-Version: 4.14.8 Qt-Version: 4.8.6 Phonon-Version: 4.7.2 Phonon-Backend: GStreamer (4.7.2) PulseAudio: Nein Amarok-Skripte: Amarok Script Console 1.0 (angehalten) Lyricwiki .2 (läuft) Free Music Charts 1.6.0 (angehalten) Librivox.org 1.0 (angehalten) Cool Streams 1.0 (angehalten) Amarok-Module: Audio-CD-Sammlung (deaktiviert) DAAP-Sammlung (deaktiviert) MySQLServer-Sammlung (aktiviert) Nepomuk-Sammlung (deaktiviert) UPnP-Sammlung (deaktiviert) Universelle Massenspeicher-Sammlung (aktiviert) Ampache (deaktiviert) Jamendo (deaktiviert) Last.fm (aktiviert) MP3-Musikladen (deaktiviert) Magnatune-Online-Shop (deaktiviert) Podcast-Verzeichnis (deaktiviert)
This is probably related to the phonon backend you use, could you try with the phonon-backend-vlc to see if this happens there as well? Since Amarok doesn't do the playback, but lets phonon do it, I don't think the problem is in Amarok.
You're right. It does not happen with VLC backend.
Thank you for your feedback. Reassigning to the gstreamer backend. FWIW, the backend you use is rather old, there is a newer one available, so this might already be solved.
FYI, this is still an issue even with the 4.9.0 gstreamer backend. Would be nice to get this fixed. Switching to the VLC backend causes different problems for me, so that's not really an acceptable workaround.

I no longer run Amarok, and I don't think my current music player uses phonon, so I'm no longer able to test this.
Same to me. My distribution (Gentoo) no longer offers Amarok.
