Once I connect to a wireless network the info box that pops up telling me that "Connection xxxx activated' will not go away. I do not see any way to get rid of it. VERY annoying.

It does fade out as I mouseover it.

Reproducible: Always

1. connect to a wireless connection
2.
3.

Thanks for the report

You are running NotifyOSD, which is Ubuntu Unity's notification service. Either please remove notify-osd package or update knotification framework to at least 5.11, which will make it properly go away after a timeout.

Thanks for a RAPID response. For anyone looking in on this bug report, the knotification framework referred to is "libkf5notification". My kubuntu upgrade pulled down plasma 5.2.2 even though the latest is 5.3.1.

The software package manager did not find an update to knotification.

Removing notify-osd requires ends up with request from the package manager to delete the entire ubuntu-desktop. Which is fine since I did not ask for it to be installed anyway.

I am going to attempt to install the latest plasma from backports ...

May God have mercy on my soul.

I just removed notify-osd and all its requirements, then rebooted.

As advertised the problem disappeared. No need to got ot plasma 5.3.1 just yet.
