Description Alexander Olofsson 2015-07-22 22:04:25 UTC
When reading the network/interfaces/wlan0/wifi/signal and network/interfaces/wlan0/wifi/noise sensors they report values that are much lower than expected.
KSysGuard reports signal values of -325 dBm while /proc/net/wireless reports -69 dBm.

I believe this comes from line 250 - 251 in kde/workspace/ksysguard/ksysguardd/Linux/netdev.c where both of the values are reduced by 256.
I'm guessing this is correct for some cards, but not others. As evidenced by my far too low values.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open KSysGuard
2. Find a signal or noise sensor for a wireless network card
3. Drag onto a sensor slot

Actual Results:
The values are reported at around -300 dBm for signal strength and -512 dBm for noise level.

Expected Results:
The correct values of around -60 dBm for signal strength and -256 dBm for noise are shown.
