Left padding is close to zero in the preview, but it is still a few pixels (which looks better) in the regular UI.

Can you try when using a different font ?

Fixed after changing font to Sanf Serif. The guilty font was Oxygen-Sans.

The text in the combobox preview is in Russian.

Thanks for your bug report.

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to maintain this font anymore and moved upstream to using the Noto font [1] which also provides much better glyph coverage. We advise you do the same. Sorry.

As a matter of fact, there was a bug in oxygen (style) related to this issue, which was reported elsewhere, and fixed, so that I am pretty sure this bug is actually fixed too, disregarding the font that is used.
