when opening the apper GUI, one can see the following icons: I: actualisation, installed software II: groups, containing some 17 thematic assortments of software packages. is is strange to me, that some redundant groups are listed here: - what would be the difference between system and system tools? - are gnome, XFCE or KDE not all the same category-namely software packages to operate some hardware? On the other side, apper-developers seem to have more interest in multimedia or game than in realy relevant categories, as I'd like to suggest here: - engineering: mechanical engineering, image analysis and so on - sciences: geography, astronomics, Genetics, Axel Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. finding really interesting and serious software packages is not possible. 2. such a luck discredits the whole armada of volunteers work for an OS 3. Why don't you just check at UBUNTU how this could be arrange more intelligent and less childrens orientated?

This project is unfortunately no longer maintained. If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here: https://invent.kde.org/system/apper You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived. Sorry for the inconveniences.
