Description Rewarp 2015-07-09 17:28:43 UTC
For no clear reason, the filters I have set up in KMail that have worked for filtering my mail into their specific IMAP folders for months no longer work. Even manually right-clicking and choosing Apply Filter fails to sort the received emails to their respective folders.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open KMail
2. Emails downloaded.
3. Wait for automated filtering (or manually choosing to apply filters).

Actual Results:
Email is not filtered, but remains in primary inbox.

Expected Results:
Mail should have been filtered into respective folders, as had been the case for months.

KMail
Version 4.14.9

Same problem here with Ubuntu 15.04.

Sometimes it was working after an akonadi restart but since one week spam rules are never apply and I need to restart akonadi several times to have mail filtered.

@Rewarp: type "akonadi stop", then wait the message in kmail to start it. finally, select your new mails and apply all rules with Ctrl+J.

kmail 4:4.14.6-0ubuntu1
akonadi-server 1.13.0-2ubuntu4
baloo-kf5 5.6.2-0ubuntu4

I see what you mean. The filters have decided to work again on their own!

The filters have on occasion failed to work on my Kubuntu 14.04 setup as well. Thanks for the tip for getting them to work again.

Hi. Today, the filters failed to work once more, and I tried the "akonadi stop" command, which did not work.

After checking the documentation on:
https://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi

I found out the correct command to use is:
akonadictl restart

My filters worked after running the command above.

I am experiencing the same problem with KMail 4.14.5

'akonadictl restart' does not help.
Creating a 'to' filter does not help either.

My email account is IMAP so I am not sure if filters on POP3 work.

Filters don't work with POP3 either. KDE 4.14.9 OpenSUSE 13.2 64bit. Log filter shows activity after KMail is initially opened, but if you try to run filters manually, the log remains empty and it's as if nothing was executed.

Did a "akonadictl restart" from a terminal window, waited until it restarted, then selected 70+ messages, then did a right mouse click and applied all filters. It did filter and move the two messages it found based on the filter.

Since this issue is no longer occurring, I am closing this report. Thanks for all the help!
