There is a menu command for deleting images. Please add a shortcut key to delete images also. All mac programs seem to use AppleKey+Delete. Reproducible: Always
By default the shortcut exist and is already set internally, but is not shown on menu. Under Linux we have DEL to move to trash and SHIFT+DEL to delete file as well. Gilles Caulier
I can not find any delete shortcut that works under Mac. Tried delete plus variations on shift, ctl, AppleKey. The menu entry for "Move To Trash" is the only way I can delete. Using binary package " digikam-4.11.0-Yosemite.pkg"
Geoff, digiKam 4.12.0 PKG installer build with git/master implementation can be downloaded with at this url : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7yq-xFihT0_MjV0Vno0TjZxcGs/view?usp=sharing Let's me hear if problem is reproducible. Gilles Caulier
I still cannot delete without using the menus. The "delete" key acts like a backspace or left/up key to select other images. digiKam version 4.12.0 CPU cores: 4 Demosaic GPL2 pack support: Unknown Demosaic GPL3 pack support: Unknown Exiv2 can write to Jp2: Yes Exiv2 can write to Jpeg: Yes Exiv2 can write to Pgf: Yes Exiv2 can write to Png: Yes Exiv2 can write to Tiff: Yes Exiv2 supports XMP metadata: Yes LibCImg: 130 LibEigen: 3.2.5 LibExiv2: 0.25 LibJPEG: 90 LibJasper: 1.900.1 LibKDE: 4.14.3 LibKExiv2: 2.4.0 LibKGeoMap: 3.1.0 LibKdcraw: 2.4.2 LibLCMS: 2070 LibLensFun: 0.3.1-0 LibLqr support: yes LibPGF: 6.14.12 LibPNG: 1.6.17 LibQt: 4.8.7 LibRaw: 0.16.2 LibTIFF: LIBTIFF, Version 4.0.4 Copyright (c) 1988-1996 Sam Leffler Copyright (c) 1991-1996 Silicon Graphics, Inc. I tried again with 4.12 and deleting using "fn+delete" from keyboard does work using the 4.12 for yosemite. I would still like it to utilize "Apple+delete" instead like most other Mac programs. Would be great if that could be implemented. Additionally, the menu (Image -> Move To Trash) should indicate the shortcut command, currently that is blank.
Alternative : edit keyboard shortcuts through Settings menu and relevant dialog. Gilles Caulier
Okay I was able to use the Digikam Settings menu to change the shortcut. Just learned something new. I guess I never dug deep enough in to that menu. Maybe it could be made as default on Mac, but for now I would consider it resolved.
