Description marcin.marcin.m 2015-06-18 12:04:19 UTC
After installing KDE and playing with it a while, Cinnamon DE can't be launched. This may be caused by either Cinnamon or KDE - hence reporting it here too.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LM 17.1 Cinnamon
2. Install `mint-meta-kde` and `kde-full`
3. Play a little around with KDE (add widgets, customize your desktop, install `amarok`)
4. Log into Cinnamon
5. `apt-get --purge autoremove mint-meta-kde kde-full`
6. reboot
7. Launch Cinnamon

Actual Results:
in 4. - black screen
in 7. - at first time Cinnamon launches without desktop icons, after another reboot - a black screen after launching Cinnamon

Expected Results:
DE launches as it should

In fact the version of plasma-desktop is 4:4.11.11-0ubuntu0.2. Selected unspecified since 4.11.11 is not available.

Cross-reporting from here: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/4333

Seems like a configuration issue, and I don't know if KDE software is supported in Cinnamon anymore anyway. :/
