yes if we must do we must fork webkit paint function.
We discussed a possible solution on IRC today. The idea is to join the mails in a single html page using iframes or something and then print this resulting "multi mail".

In the particular case of a single thread, the workaround I'm using right now (when it's absolutely necessary to print a long discussion via e-mail) is to forward to myself the full thread as a "digest", and then print that mail with the attachment. I do get of course an annoying "dummy" first mail in the printout. But I suppose that's a kludge somewhat resembling the idea you are working on. Thanks for discussing this issue!
