New installation of 3.5.0 on Kubuntu 14.04.2 (LTS). Crash occurs while splash screen displays. I believe the top line on the splash says "Reading database." Happens every time. I have purged the install and reinstalled with no change. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click icon to start digikam 2. Note splash screen appears 3. See C rash Assistant appear Actual Results: Splash screen displays a number of legends. At "Reading database" application crashes Expected Results: Opened the main application window and worked. Incidentally, Showfoto (also newly installed) does work. Probably fixed. You use a very old digiKam release. We are in 4.10.0 now. Please update and try again...
This crash is not reproducible use current 5.8.0 pre-release bundle available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ I close this file now. Re-open it if necessary. Gilles Caulier
