From time to time a check the settings in digiKam. I experience extreme long savings time. I noticed this at first, when adopting the metadata-settings and saving. It took up to three minutes!!! Then, I opened digiKam newly, opened the settings menu, did _NOT_ change anything- resulting saving time 97 seconds. Please note, I did not change any setting!! Reproducible: Always Actual Results: unrealistic long saving time Expected Results: saving times should work properly: open, change settings, save changes. I assume, there is a major issue behind
open a console, run kdebugdialog and turn on debug space as explained here : https://www.digikam.org/contrib And now run digiKam on the console and report here all debug trace when you play with setup dialog.
