I would suggest looking for help on an Ubuntu mailing list or forum. I don't know how KHelpCenter crashed if you were trying to change a resolution setting for the display. However, one thing to try is making sure /etc/X11/xorg.conf either does not exist or is set up correctly for your hardware. Also one additional question - are you saying that X starts correctly but setting the resolution is a problem because that window is too large for your displayed screen? If so, do any other programs work OK or are all of them too large?

Hi,

I cannot tell about the screen setting issues; judging the backtrace pasted, this could seem something I fixed in khelpcenter 5.5.5 (commit 1720755511827adc5325f2613910a71f0134ba34). Can you please check whether khelpcenter still crashes for you?

I suspect that the issue was fixed long time ago. Feel free to reopen if you still see it.
