When switching to a new activity for the *first* time (e.g. on login) by using keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Meta + Tab), the desktop becomes completely unusable. All application UIs disappear, nothing in the task bar responds, etc. It does not seen to crash. I can still switch between virtual desktops (e.g. I see virtual cube animation) and can choose to log out from the prompt (e.g. Ctrl + Alt + Del) The only way to fix this is to either force restart the session or reboot the computer, **losing all current/unsaved work.** I don't know if this is a regression on bug 344254 or if it's even related. Note that the activity switch must be attempted with keyboard shortcuts. If you try to start/switch to a new activity using the Activity Manager from the systray or some other mouse-based method, it works normally and as expected. Also, if you switch at least once to any of your activities using a mouse-based method, then you can continue to switch around using your keyboard shortcuts without any problems. In other words, for this problem to not show up, you must switch to an activity first *without* using the keyboard shortcuts to prevent desktop from "freezing". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure you have 2 or more activities available for selection *and* a valid keyboard shortcut to switch between them 2. Login to a brand new session 3. Try to switch to another activity using the keyboard shortcut Actual Results: The desktop becomes unusable Expected Results: The system switches to a different desktop activity and continues working normally Using Frameworks Version 5.9.0.
Is this under the correct product?
