Description humufr 2015-05-13 13:49:26 UTC
Before this version, ktp use to connect to Google through jabber using the server talk.google.com and the port 5223 (and it is still working fine with version kde4). I tried to use it because of the problem to connect using the google method (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347643) but it doesn't work either. With this new version of ktp, without Gnome, I cannot connect to my professional account.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure jabber for a google account
2. use the port 5223 and talk.google.com
3.connect

Actual Results:
No connection

Expected Results:
Connection to the account and show the contacts.

Thanks for the report

Can you reproduce this with 15.04 or 15.08 version?

I have this problem too. After fresh install ubuntu 15.04 ktp does not connect. Then I upgrade plasma to 5.3 and ktp 15.04.1. Ktp still not connected.

Ok, please update to kde-telepathy 15.08 and make sure you have telepathy-accounts-signon installed too. Then please try readding that account and report back.

15.08 has much stuff rewritten under the hood.
