Description Janet 2015-05-13 13:01:38 UTC
I' using Kubuntu 15.04 with Plasma 5. When I switch the virtual desktop via the pager it is switched in all activities... When I leave activity 1 on desktop 2, switch to activity 2 I also have desktop 2 on activity 2. When I there switch to desktop 1 and switch back to activity 1 I have desktop 1 there too.

At least for me that doesn't make any sense, I want to enter the activity in the state I left it. When I leave activity 1 on desktop 2 I want to re-enter it on desktop 2 no matter which desktop I use in another activity.

Reproducible: Always

I'm not sure of the intended behaviour.
VDG Team / Ivan, can you comment.
Comment 2 Dr. Boris Neubert 2015-06-14 07:20:41 UTC
I can confirm Janet's observation. Same here. In my opinion, virtual desktops across Activities should not influence each other.
Comment 3 Alexander Mentyu 2018-02-21 13:55:37 UTC
Can reproduce in:

Plasma: 5.12.1
Apps: 17.12.2
Frameworks: 5.43.0
Qt: 5.10.1
Kernel: 4.14.20-2-MANJARO
OS: Netrunner Rolling

There's an option in 5.12.5 under Activities settings:
"Remember the current virtual deskltop for each activity (needs restart)"

Maybe this option can be set as default? Otherwise think this bug report is resolved with this option?

AFAICT the option works as desired. Changing the default would probably lead to a lot of surprises and grumbling, so I'd say we can close this.

I actually don't like the current implementation and thus it's one of the reason why Activities are currently not too useful to me. Maybe this could be made optional at least?

Sorry, I was forgot I answered myself here. ;) I just read the OP again.
