right click on the system tray telepathy icon -> Contact list... does nothing. When I launch manually ktp-contactlist the contact list starts as normal. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. right click on the system tray telepathy icon 2. select Contact list... Actual Results: Nothing. Expected Results: The Contact list showing up.
Thanks for the report. Which ktp-contactlist version are you using and are you using the legacy presence applet or the new one (if you've added any ppa to your system, you're most likely using the new one).
ktp-contactlist version: 15.04.0, using KDE Frameworks 5.9.0 the presence applet: Not sure but probably a new one. It's from ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports as is described here: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-applications-15.04
Ok, if you go to Konsole and type "qdbus org.kde.ktpcontactlist" - does the contact list open?
Yes, it does.
Ok, I think you might actually have the other applet (the legacy) in the panel because the applet does exactly what you just did on the konsole. If you right click on the applet, do you see "Join Chat Room..."? If you left click on it, does small contact list show up?
It seems so. Neither of it happens. When left clicked it just displays bigger picture of itself. I see kde-telepathy-legacy-presence-applet package is installed and I can't find any other package with "Presence applet". Maybe there is something wrong in kubuntu-ppa/backports. At the same time I have problems with installing kde-config-telepathy-accounts (https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1451728).
Yeah so you're running the incompatible applet. Try right-clicking the up arrow in systray -> settings -> you should see two "Instant messaging" applets, disable the one that has the blue bubble and enable the one with two black persons. That assumes you have the correct package installed though (I don't know its name).
The package is kde-telepathy-desktop-applets. I don't know why it didn't install automatically but I did it manually and set the option in systray. There was just one option: the new one. After that I had two applets at the same time. I logged out and logged back in and now it finally works. I'm still in trouble with account management but this one is solved. Thanks a lot.
